The art of living twice centers on the memory of Cécile, Simen's deceased grandmother, and her 82 years of life in the same small village. Using a series of letters from her grandmother as a guide, the photographs confront memory as both an imperfect record and a poetic construction—mutable, subjective, and often tinged with nostalgia.
